Hudsons 8, Picture House 3

Hudsons got off to a flying start in their first league game of the season – hitting Picture House for eight.

They opened the scoring after just 25 seconds from kick-off, three touches leading to Craig Laing curling the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner.

The same player added a second in the third minute after being picked out by Scott Ferguson.

Ferguson made it three-nil after only five minutes when he exchanged passes with Aaron Walker and slotted home.

It was all too easy for Hudsons at this stage and, after some missed chances, they went four-up on the half hour, Craig Laing and Euan Milne combining for Euan to round up the keeper and net.

Picture House pulled a goal back just before the break and started the better team in the second period.

Dale Calder pulled off some fine saves to keep Hudsons well ahead.

On the hour, Fraser Smith’s through pass allowed Euan Milne who strike home from 18 yards for his second of the game.

Fraser smith made it six with a great header and then Euan Milne completed his hat-trick with a shot into the top corner of the net.

The best goal of the game came from Gary Southam when he received the ball just over the half-way line and beat four defenders and the keeper before slotting into the empty net.

Picture House pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and made it eight-three in the 88th minute.

Hudsons are away to Bervie this coming Sunday.

Players asked to meet at Hudsons by 9.30 am.
