Brechin City had to share the honours when they welcomed Ayr United to Glebe Park today (Saturday).
Despite having a great proportion of the possession of the first half, Brechin City found themselves a goal down heading to the break. It was a individual goal from Anthony Marenghi, who fired home a left footed drive from around 20 yards out in the 44th minute.
Brechin probed for an equaliser in the second half, and were rewarded in the 75th minute when Andy Jackson’s diving header nestled in the back of the net.
Both sides searched for a winning goal, with Jackson coming close in the latter stages, but a great save from Hutton in the Ayr goals denied the City striker, and the sides had to settle for a point each.
