Brechin City have announced via their website that the club’s top goal scorer Andy Jackson has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club for the 2013/2014 season.

Jackson joined the club at the start of the 2012/2013 season and has proved a big hit with fans due to his incredible strike rate.

Speaking to the club’s website, manager Ray McKinnon said “I am absolutely delighted to have secured the services of such an influential player as we enter the business part of the season. Andy may be at the top of the high scorer tables, it is also however the hard work he puts in whilst off the ball and supporting his team mates that makes him such a valuable member of our squad. I look forward to working with Andy in the future.”

Chairman Ken Ferguson commented: “This contract extension is sign of the respect and regard the players have for Ray McKinnon and his fellow Coaches at the Club. Andy’s record speaks for itself and we are delighted to hold onto him in the face if some stiff competition. For Brechin City to retain such a valuable player sends out strong message that we mean business and that we wish to continue and build on the success and feel good factor that Ray, Grant and Darren have brought to the Club.”
