Montrose Welfare league back in action

THE MONTROSE and District Welfare league returned to action on Sunday, January 6 following a break over the festive period.

It was a pleasing return to action for Hudsons, as they put 12 goals past their opponents.

City Royal, however, were not as lucky as they were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Picture House.

The full results were as follows:-

Fettercairn 5, Marykirk 0; Fordoun Galaxy 3, MCT 0; Hillside 5, Black Abbot 1; Hudsons 12, Montrose Athletic 1; Northern Vaults 2, Bervie Caley 1; Picture House 3, City Royal 2.

The fixtures for Sunday, January 13 are as follows:-

Bervie Caley v MCT; Black Abbot v Montrose Athletic (10.30 a.m. kick-off); City Royal v Golf Inn; Hillside v Fettercairn; Hudsons v Marykirk; Northern Vaults v Picture House.

Brechin side Hudsons are currently sitting top of the division with a total 31 points, having won 10 of their 13 matches.

Their scoring record has been impressive, with total of 90 goals netted this season. They are currently four points ahead of second place Golf Inn, but Hudsons have played four games more.

The other Brechin team in the division, City Royal, are currently eighth with 12 points, but have played one less match than Hudsons so far this season.
