Speaking after Saturday’s draw, Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon said: “The players did well. These teams come up here and they give it everything, it’s a cup final for them. Bonnyrigg were a good side and we said that to the players, so there were no surprises that they came out of the traps. Fair play to them, they made it very tough for us. All credit to my lads, we are still in the cup and they’ve got a chance next week to put things right.
“We got in to some great positions in the first half but our decision making in the final third was poor this week and I said that to the guys at half time. We needed to be sharper. To go two nothing down and come back to two all, we are obviously delighted to still be here.
“We could have won it at the end. The goalkeeper had a great save - probably redeemed himself a wee bit. The players dug in and showed a bit of character to come back to two-two.”
