BRECHIN Vics suffered another home defeat on Saturday, going down by three goals to nil against Downfield.
This time it was a poor first half performance that was their downfall.
Vics went behind in 20 minutes when the visitors broke away to net, and two goals in a two-minute spell close top half time left the home side with a mountain to climb.
The second half saw Vics show signs of encouragement, looking to be getting back to the form they had showed prior to the long enforced break.
But the closest they came to reducing the deficit was when Fyfe hit the bar from 12 yards.
Vics pressed for most of the half but found the Downfield defence very hard to break down.
And they suffered a major blow ten minutes from time when left-back Chris Eaton was stretchered off with a broken leg after a fully-committed 50/50 challenge.
Vics are at home again this coming Saturday, when East Craigie are the visitors (kick-off 2.30 pm).
