Vics travelled to Kirriemuir minus no less than eight players through various reasons. They included new loan signing from Highland league side Huntly FC, Lewis Robertson.
The game was fairly even for the first 15 minutes at which time Robbie was called into action saving well from a shot from 12 yards. Vics retaliated and Fyfe had effort but his shot went narrowly over the crossbar.
Kirrie had a great chance on the half hour mark but their striker missed with a header from six yards. Vics were dealt a blow on 35 minutes when the injured C Eaton had to be replaced by Longmuir.
The home side took the lead on 40 minutes with a simply worked goal. Vics failed to clear their lines on the right and when the cross came into the box Scott at the back post was on hand to slot the ball into the net from six yards. Vics came more into the game and Fyfe equalised on 44 minutes.
A great through ball from Dunn found Fyfe in the clear and he rounded the keeper before slotting the ball into the empty net. Vics almost took the lead a minute later but Robertson’s header was touched onto the crossbar by the Kirrie keeper before being cleared.
Vics took the lead on 52 minutes when Whitworth beat two players before advancing into the box and shooting passed the keeper from 12 yards.
Robbie had to be on his toes when he saved a shot from 25 yards. Kirrie equalised on 60 minutes in fortunate circumstances. Vics’ defence tried to clear their lines but the ball rebounded off a couple players before landing at the feet of Russell who had the easiest tasks of scoring from 10 yards.
Vics then lost Fyfe in what looked a serious ankle injury. Robbie was again brought into action producing a great save to keep the score level. Kirrie took the lead on 75 minutes when Lunan turned and scored from 12 yards out. Vics kept plugging away but it was Kirrie who scored again on 83 minutes with a tap in from Lunan.

Vics showed a great deal of fight but their every increasing injury list proved to be their downfall. Fyfe and C Eaton join the list and both will miss Saturday, October 6 home league game against Forfar Albion.
On the plus side Young, Duff, Fotheringham and Buggins will all be available.
Vics have drawn a home tie against Coupar Angus in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup. The tie is scheduled for October 20.
Vics have been able to secure the loan signing of Lewis Robertson from Highland League side Huntly. Lewis is a midfielder and will be a valuable addition to Vics squad.
He has signed for an initial period of two months. Graham Stark another loan signing from Huntly has agreed to extend his stay by a further month. Vics are in talks to secure a striker/attacking midfield in time for next weeks game.
