Kirrie Thistle 1 Brechin Vics 1
Vics performed much better on Saturday and more than deserved a share of the points.
The first half was very even with both sides trying to play attacking football.
Vics had a couple of early chances, with D Ross and Bell both having shots which failed to trouble the Kirriemuir keeper.
Thistle were always dangerous and Robbie had to make two good saves to keep the score line blank.
The home side took the lead on 38 minutes when Farquarson turned Low in the box and smashed an unstoppable shot passed Robbie from ten yards.
Vics almost got level on 42 minutes when Young had a header at the back post saved by the keeper.
Vics took the game to Kirrie in the second half and although play swung from end to end Vics were by far the more dangerous.
Vics kept pressing but the clear cut chance that they were needing continued to elude them until the 80th minute when Gary Archbald picked up a clearance and from 20 yards shot high into the roof of the net, giving the Kirrie keeper no chance.
The same player almost won it for Vics in the last minute but this time his shot from a similar distance came crashing back of the crossbar.
This was a much better performance from Vics and they probably should have won the game after dominating the second half.
Kirrie are a good side so Vics should take confidence from the performance and result and look forward to the forthcoming games
