Bervie 2 Hudsons 5 .

HUDSONS travelled to Bervie on a league game on Sunday and the game proved to be not as straight forward as Hudsons thought.

Bervie put up a good fight and made sure that Hudsons had to work hard to get the three points.

Hudsons started the game the better side and missed a few good chances in the first 20 minutes.

The first fell to Euan Milne, who, after receiving a good cross from Jo Smith, put his effort just went wide of the post.

Then Jo missed another good chance to put Hudsons ahead after his shot was easily dealt with by the keeper and Callum Valentine fired over the bar two minutes later.

The opener was coming but it took Hudsons until the 25th minute. Callum Valentine played a one-two with Jon Pitkethly and he fired the ball home from 20 yards to give Hudsons the lead.

That’s the way it stayed for the first half as Hudsons found it hard to break the Bervie defence down.

The second half got off to a much better start as Steven Laurie added Hudsons second with a great shot from 25 yards in the 47th minute.

However, Bervie went straight up the park and scored to reduce the leeway.

Hudsons went three-one up on the on the hour mark, with Callum scoring his second of the game with another shot from outside the 18 yard box.

Bervie was determined to make as hard as possible for Hudsons by scoring their second on the 65th minute.

Hudsons had to go up a gear and the ball fell to Jon Pitkethly to tap in from a close range to make four-two in the 75th minute and the three points were safe when Jo Smith was fouled inside the box and Callum Valentine scored from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick.

Calvin Duncan had the chance to make it six but his header was just over the bar.

This was a good three points for Hudsons to stay in contention for the league title.
