Brechin Vics travelled to meet Blairgowrie after the game eventually got the go ahead following a late inspection.
The pitch was playable although conditions were far from ideal.
This resulted in the game lacking in any real constructive football - the majority of the play being bogged down in the middle of the park with very little in the way of goalmouth action.
The first real attempt on goal came on 20 minutes when a shot from 18 yards went narrowly wide of the target.
Vics’ only chance of note came when C. Eaton played Barclay in on goal but his shot was blocked and cleared to safety.
Half-time: Blairgowrie 0, Brechin Vics 0.
Vics started the second half brightly and almost took the lead on 46 minutes.
Good play down the right involving Gourlay and Fyfe resulted in the Fyfe’s cross finding S. Eaton whose header from 10 yards produced a great diving save from the Blairgowrie ‘keeper.
Robbie was called into action three minutes later producing a good save to keep the scorelines blank.
The game then settled back into the first half pattern and looked as though a 0-0 scoreline was to be the outcome.
Blairgowrie, however, had other ideas and a couple of defensive errors created two chances for Blairgowrie on 61 and 63 minutes which they gratefully accepted, scoring two goals in quick succession.
The homesters had their tails up at this stage and another couple of good saves by Robbie kept Vics in the match.
Whitworth was next to have an attempt for Vics but his header from 12 yards was just too high.
Blairgowrie completed the scoring on 40 minutes when C. Eaton was judged to have handled on the goal line. A penalty awarded and Eaton sent off.
A disappointing and unacceptable performance from Vics who will now have to pick themselves up quickly as they face a league leaders Dundee North End at home on Saturday (December 1). Kick-off is 1.45 p.m.
