This week sees the launch of a brand new, unique and exciting competition which will interest Brechin City fans of all ages.

In association with Brechin Castle Garden Centre, the winner will be required to show some photographic imagination and creativity.

In short, competition entrants are asked to submit a snapshot which includes a Brechin City top – taken in the most unusual place one can think of.

Speaking on behalf of City’s management committee, Grant Hood said, “With the support of Brechin Castle Centre, the club is delighted to be in a position to launch this exciting new competition.

“This is something which is entirely unique both in terms of the fun element to it and the ‘money-can’t-buy’ nature of the prize.”

In short, fans are invited to submit the most unusual and creative a photograph of a City top.

The kind of things which have been suggested during the construction of this competition include photos at iconic landmarks across the world, or perhaps snapshots relating to hobbies such as mountain climbing or even bungee-jumping.

Adopting the current reality-TV concept of the audience voting for the winner, all entries will be put on display within Brechin Castle Garden Centre, so the wider public will ultimately have the chance to vote for the winning entry.

To match the fun of the competition, the prize is sure to appeal to City fans.

The winning entrant will enjoy the full VIP treatment like never before at the first home game of 2012-13, including complimentary pre-match lunch for four at Brechin Castle Centre; complimentary transport to Glebe Park; Brechin Castle Centre gift vouchers; four passes to the 1983 Hospitality Lounge; nominating a primary school child to lead out the team as mascot; viewing the match from the directors’ box; and meeting the manager and assistant manager after the game.

With the wide-ranging nature of the competition entries, the club is hoping to attract entries from ex-pat Brechiners from all across the world, as well as those people from various places in the UK whom we know have an strong allegiance to Brechin City.

Grant added, “The competition itself, in tandem with a prize package the like of which Brechin City has never before offered, takes the club into an area not previously explored.

“We’re keen to encourage plenty of entrants and further add to our role as a community club.”

A spokesperson for Brechin Castle Centre said: “It’s another illustration of our alliance with Brechin City FC, and we’re pleased to facilitate and help drive this exciting new initiative.

“Equally we’re looking forward to displaying the entries in our coffee shop over the next few weeks.”
