Jim Weir to take Glebe Park hotseat
IT was a case of third time lucky for Jim Weir, who will be appointed manager of Brechin City FC tonight, just six days after the departure of Jim Duffy.
The former Hearts, St Johnstone and Hamilton Accies defender resigned as manager at Arbroath FC to take over at Glebe Park. The former Lichties boss twice came close to gaining the job prior to the appointments of both Michael O'Neill and Jim Duffy.
Weir's managerial career kicked-off at Montrose whom he took to the second division play-offs in 2007-08 and lost out to Stranraer 3-0 at Stair Park, after a 1-1 draw at Montrose.
Jim's next port of call was Arbroath last season. However, after an injury-hit campaign the Lichties were eventually relegated via the play-offs having been defeated by Forfar Athletic.
