Lovely day in glen
A WEEK past Saturday a group of Brechin Ramblers began their walk in Glen Esk at Craigendowie with a steady climb up to Craig Duchrey.
As the higher ground was reached the views looking down on Hunthill Lodge and the beautiful glen where the Water of Saughs meanders down to West Water began to materialise.
The walk continued by the Hill of Monduran and back down by Nathro Lodgeto return to Craigendowie.
The circular walk was 11 miles in all and the weather was fine with a cool breeze on the tops.
Sixteen red cheeked, weary ramblers, looked forward to a relaxing evening to reflect on a lovely day spent in an Angus glen.
The challenge of the Hill of Strone from Glen Prosen Lodge with a steep climb up to 2800 ft, will be the next walk on May 8th.
From the summit the walk continues to Cairn Inks with superb views over Glen Clova.
Good boots and a stout heart are required. For details phone Gordon on (01356) 625787.
