Have your say

Last weekend saw the final round of the Angus League matches, with Brechin hosting Newgate.

The visitors were the winners on the day, and topped League One, with Brechin finishing the season in sixth place, out of 10 teams.

The Brechin Bowling Club Ladies finished top of the Angus Ladies League.

The club are set to be represented in the quarter-finals of the singles, triples and fours of the Angus and Perthshire competition.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Congratulations to Evelyn Simpson, Mary Robertson, Jean McGilp and Alice McIntosh who have won through to the Tayside Ladies Bowling Association Final, to be contested at Carnoustie on Friday, July 4.

“Congratulations also to Shane Cunningham and Ryan Halliday who have qualified to play in the SBA under-17s finals at Ayr.

“Friendly matches continue to be played, with mixed fortunes, but most importantly it is a chance to play on other greens, meet new people and renew acquaintances.”
