There are just three days left to vote for Brechin Buccaneers Cricket Club to help them win the prize of a lifetime.
The club are one of 40 grassroot cricket teams competing to win a prize that will see them train with England cricketing legends at the home of cricket, Lord’s.
The competition is part of the grassroots cricket campaign launched by premium home appliance brand, AEG.
Voting closes at midnight on Friday (July 19).
The 40 cricket teams have already won AEG’s Ultimate Kit and Laundry Package, which includes 11 Canterbury Cricket kits designed by the club, and an AEG washing machine to keep them looking pristine on the cricket pitch.
The club with the most votes will travel to Lord’s, the home of cricket, and receive one-to-one coaching from England cricketing legends and learn skills and techniques from professionals who have reached the top of their game.
Paul Nixon, a supporter of the AEG grassroots campaign, said: “It truly is a unique experience visiting Lord’s, simply known as The Home of Cricket. This is a fantastic opportunity for any club to come down and experience this inspiring venue, plus learn from top professionals of the game, I’m sure they will take away many skills to inspire their performances for the remainder of the season. It’s a chance of a lifetime and I wish Brechin Buccaneers Cricket Club the best of luck!”
The opportunity is part of AEG’s ongoing commitment to support grassroots sports in the UK, which began by supporting rugby in early 2011 and has expanded into supporting cricket. More than 1000 kits have been supplied to grassroots teams and last year’s winners had the chance to train with ex-England players.
