Angus Cricket Development Group is organising a series of cricket camps during the school holiday break at Easter.
The camps are open to children in primaries four to seven at a cost of £15.
They are open to boys and girls and all camps will be led by Cricket Scotland’s Community Coach for the Angus area.
The camps will be suitable for complete beginners and children who have played before at school or a local club.
The emphasis will be on fun, with lots of games as well as opportunities to develop cricket skills.
On April 3 – 6 camps will be held in Timmergreens Primary School, Arbroath from 10 am - 12 noon and South Esk Primary School, Montrose from 1.30 -3.30 pm.
On April 10 – 13 camps will be held in Maisondieu Primary School, Brechin from 10 am – 12 noon and Strathmore Primary School, Forfar from 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm.
The cricket camps are a new venture for the Angus Cricket Development Group and mark the start of what will be another busy cricket season in Angus.
Most clubs begin their practice sessions for young cricketers immediately after the Easter break, so the camps provide an ideal curtain raiser.
As the season progresses, children and young people joining clubs will have opportunities to train, play in club matches at various age groups and progress to represent Angus in inter-area fixtures.
