Members of Edzell Curling Club spent their last weekend in May hard at work as they cleaned out the curling pond at Edzell Muir.
Members of the club both old and young took part in the clean up that saw 15 members clear away fallen trees and cut back overgrown shrubs and bushes in an effort to best prepare the pond for winter curling.
A spokesperson for the club commented: “More work is required yet but a great start so well done to all involved. Your hard work was well worth it and all the scratches and nettle stings will go away in a few days.”
After the hard work was finished the members enjoyed a well earned burger and drinks. President Russell thanked everyone for giving up a sunny Sunday afternoon and for all their sweat and toil.
The spokesperson added: “Who said curling stops in the summer, not in Edzell it doesn’t.”
