Fishing for Maggie’s Charity

The annual Maggie’s Charity competition for the Mary Hampton Shield took place at Rescobie Loch the weekend before last.

Thirty six anglers took part in the popular fixture which is now in its third year.

The winner of Saturday’s competition was Darren Blythe (Lour) with three fish for 11lb 7oz.

Sunday’s winner, Ian MacDonell (Lochgillphead) with four for 18lb 15oz took the shield.

In second place overall was George Austin (Errol) with four for 18lbs. The biggest fish on Saturday was caught by Andy Millar (Banchory) with one at 6lb 8oz and on Sunday Jim Moncur’s (Invergowrie) fish tipped the scales at 8lb 8oz.

Over the two days, £1,140 was raised for the Maggie’s Centre.
