Tickets for next year’s Glasgow 2014 Commonweath Games went on sale on Monday, including tickets for the shooting events that will be staged at Barry Buddon.

As the tickets are launched Angus council leaders are encouraging everyone to get their ticket for the Games in Angus.

Up to one million tickets for the Games have gone on sale for the event that will see around 4500 athletes competing in 17 sports during 11 days of competition, from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

Tickets for the shooting events: Clay Target, Full Bore, Pistol and Small Bore cost just £15 and £7.50 for under 16s and concessions.

Located near Carnoustie on Scotland’s east coast, the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre was used for the Edinburgh 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Around 350 Commonwealth athletes are expected to compete for medals in the four events at Barry Buddon from a wide range of Commonwealth nations including Australia, Canada, England, India, New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, Wales, Cyprus and Pakistan.
