This year’s JTC Kitchens Midland Golfers’ Alliance Championship was held at Monifieth Links over the medal course.

Winner for the first time was Paul Jamieson, professional at Dunblane New, with a 36 hole total of 147. Paul follows his father who won the title in 1976.

Steve Harrod (2), Ballumbie Castle, won the Anderson Tankard for best handicap over 36 holes with a net total of 147.

Leading scratch scores were as follows:-

147, P. Jamieson (P), Dunblane New; 148, A. J Webster (P), Edzell; 148, M. Rae (AP), Alyth; 149, F. Mann P, Carnoustie; 149, T. McLevy (+1) Blairgowrie.

Leading Handicap scores were as follows:-

147, S. Harrod (2) Ballumbie Castle; 147, J. Watt (3) Edzell; 148, J. Strachan (2) Montrose; 148 S. Blady (3) Monifieth; 150 E. Rae (6) Arbroath.

The McQueen Shield, played over 18 holes, was won by Jim Irwin (7), Muckhart, with a net score of 72. The leading scratch scores were:-

72, J. Irwin (7) Muckhart; 75, D. Wilson (5) Monifieth; 76, G. Pendrich (10) Downfield; D. Mitchell (4) Monifieth.
