Twelve members of staff at Lathallan School, Johnshaven, have formed a new group called Lathallan 360.
The team of volunteers is drawn from senior and junior, teaching, administration and estate staff.
A key part of the new Curriculum for Excellence programme is to promote health and well-being to all pupils.
Leading by example, the adults hope to be good solid role models and help promote health and well-being throughout the whole school and raise funds for local and chosen charities, LEPRA and the National Osteoporosis Society.
The group’s first initiative is a 12 hour, 360 kilometre rowathon that will take place on Friday (May 16) between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. using three rowing machines.
The group will work in two teams using two of the machines and the third will be allocated to other staff, pupils (S4-S6) and parents.
Participants will row for a number of 15 minute sessions over the eight hours.
Sponsorship forms are available from staff who are taking part and in the reception.
The school is hoping to secure a local sponsor for their staff teams. The money would be used to purchase staff kits and enter teams in various event.
The first supporter, Turriffs of Montrose, have kindly donated money towards the purchase of kit.
