The micro age group of the Brechin Junior Rugby Club has been sponsored by local architect firm AB Roger and Young.
Ashleigh Wilson, a partner in the Brechin-based firm, made the presentation of shirts to the team, saying she and her colleagues had been very impressed by the sense of commitment at the club from the committee, coaches, parents and the swelling number of youngsters taking up the sport in Brechin.
She said: “There is a real sense of community at the club and the commitment given by the coaches and parents on and off the field is impressive.
“We are delighted to support the Pirates and wish them every success for the future in these new shirts.”
There is always something happening at the rugby club whether it is training, playing matches or charity efforts to raise money for the local community.
Recently the club launched a fund-raising initiative through the moustache growing challenge “Movember”.
The Pirates are in the process of collecting items for a Christmas hamper which they gift to the residents of Newington Gardens every year.
The Pirates are always seeking to increase their numbers and anyone who is interested to give it a go should come down to training on Sunday at 11 am most weeks to try it out.
The club can even lend rugby boots to anyone wanting to try the game out.
