Narrow losses for Parkview Bowling

Parkview Bowling Club were without a game in the Angus Senior League on July 8, with their scheduled fixture called off.

The club hosted a friendly against Kirriemuir last Wednesday, with the visitors emerging 75 to 66 winners.

On Friday, July 11, the club participated in the Ferguson Trophy against Brechin Bowling Club. It was a close game and Parkview once more were narrowly beaten, with Brechin winning 88 to 82. A club spokesperson said: “Hopefully the men will win in the next round.”

Last Saturday, the club held an invitational triples event. The spokesperson added: “Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Well done to Meigle for winning in the final against Forfar. We hope to see everyone back again next year.”

Parkview played in the Angus Top Five on Sunday, securing a 5-0 victory over Balgay. This Friday (July 18), Parkview men host Carnoustie West End in a friendly, and travel to face Craigie on Saturday.

Parkview member, Ena Christie, has been wished good luck by the club as she gets ready to compete in the Angus and Perthshire Ladies Singles final.
