Have your say

For up and coming Brechin racer Ryan Watson, the weekend racing at Knockhill couldn’t have got much better.

From Friday’s testing to the Sunday’s finale he never put a wheel wrong.

Qualifying in 5th place in a 35 strong grid, Ryan got off to a great start reeling off the laps and every time getting that wee bit quicker.

Finishing race 1 in 4th position gives him his start position for the next race, making progress!!

Race 2 another great start with a very strong performance giving him 2nd and an even faster lap time.

Race 3 a step back to 3rd, still making the podium but this only made him hungrier for the P1.

So hungry for that first win that he made a slight error in Race 4 losing ground to the lead pack and finishing 4th and off the podium.

With new tyres and some Mr Sheen to make her fast, Ryan was ready to take on the ruthless seasoned 600 riders in his final race of the weekend.

He got a fantastic start and got to the front of the pack and from there he pulled a gap lap after lap, never looking flustered taking the chequered flag by 1.2 seconds.

Achieving his first ever win on the 600 in by far the most competitive class in the UK.

Lots of cheering and emotions followed by dad Keith, Linda and the whole team - a great end to a superb weekend at a very hot and sunny Knockhill.

Next the team move on to the British Superbikes event at the end of this month where Ryan will compete against Europe’s best 600 riders, a big step from a club meeting at Knockhill.

A bit of hard work never did anybody any harm - keep an eye out for Ryan Watson as you will hear his name in the future, that’s guaranteed.

Ryan and the team would like to thank their sponsors for their support as without them this would not be possible.
