Brechin-based Moto3 rider Ryan Watson and Watson-Work Racing begin testing this week at the Cartagena Circuit in Spain following the winter break.
After four months off the bike, teenager Ryan told the Brechiner how he can’t wait to get started again.
He described how over the winter he has been concentrating on riding his moto-cross bike, which should help him when riding in the wet on track.
This year will see Ryan combine racing in Spain and the UK as he tackles the two most competitive domestic bike series in the world; the British Superbike Series and the CEV Buckler Championship.
Ryan’s father, Keith Watson, explained that after competing in Spain in November the team has agreed that the extra track time that was on offer and the calibre of rider made it an amazing opportunity which could only make Ryan a better rider.
He explained that from the 2012 season, a total of 18 riders from the CEV Buckler Championship had been selected to ride in different classes in the MotoGP.
Keith wished to thank returning sponsors Framework Property Developments,Work Cycles, Dave Street at DSTC, INP Signs, Ingram Bodyshop and Subsea Fluids for their continued support in 2013, but also wished to invite local businesses to consider sponsoring this local lad.
Without more support Ryan and Watson-Work Racing will struggle to complete the whole season.
Keith stressed that “every little helps”, and appealed to Angus to get behind this young star.
