YOUNG Brechin biker Ryan Watson remains in contention for Motorstar 125 honours despite a rather disappointing weekend at Brands Hatch.

As part of Team Colin Appleyard Macadam Racing, supported by Doodson, Ryan struggled to regain the form he has lost over the last couple of rounds, eventually bringing the bike home in tenth place.

Earlier a disappointing qualifying session left him 13th on the grid, 2.6 seconds off of the pace.

Another poor start in the race itself left him languishing at the back of the field after the first lap.

He was, however, able to find some pace and fought his way through to cross the line in tenth place.

Even with this blip in form, he is still lying fifth in the championship - 14 points off of second.

There is now a break in the championship before the next meeting at Cadwell Park on the August Bank holiday weekend (August 25 to 27).
