FORFAR Road Runners host the Forfar 10K this Sunday, starting from the Market Muir at 11 am.
Although the deadline for postal entries has passed entries will be accepted on race morning from 9 am at the home of Forfar Farmington in the Market Muir.
The route itself is fairly flat, following a circuit of Market Street, Brechin Road, Montrose Road, Bowman’s Crossing, Carseburn and Benzil.
Sunday past saw the conclusion of the Kirriemuir Relay for Life, a 24-hour event commencing on Saturday at 12 noon, covering laps of a measured track.
A total of 40 teams ran, jogged and walked, raising funds for Cancer Research.
On Tuesday, August 9, the club duathlon attracted 23 entrants for the four-mile run and 12-mile cycle to the north and east of Forfar.
Race winner, Robert Harrison of Perth Tri-club, ran and cycled to an aggregate of 56:35, ahead of Forfar Road Runners, Brian Bonnyman (61:09) and Rory Fairbairn (62:59).
Fourth placed Lorraine Brown (63:10) took the ladies prize, ahead of Tracy Morgan (69:05) sand Pauline Fairbairn (77:52).
On the fixture list in the weeks ahead are events that include the Perth and Peterhead 10Ks (August 28), the Ben Nevis Hill Race (September 3), the Glasgow half marathon (September 4), the Moray Marathon (September 4), the Cumbrae 10 Mile and Peterhead Half Marathon (September 11), the Morven Hill Race (September 17) and the Crathes Half Marathon (September 17).
