Success in Angus Top Ten for Parkview

Parkview Bowling Club suffered a defeat to Newgate last Tuesday (July 15) when the hosted Newgate in the Angus Senior League.

The score was Parkview 37 (2 points) to Newgate 56 (5 points).

The men’s team travelled to Baxter Park last week to take part in the Angus Top Ten competition, where they won 8-0.

On Friday (July 18) night, the team played a friendly at home against Carnoustie West End.

The score was Parkview 56 to Carnoustie West End’s 74.

On Saturday afternoon, the club travelled to Craigie to play a friendly. After a very close game, the score was Craigie 89 to Parkview 80. Unfortunately the Angus Top Five team was defeated 3-2 by Canmore.

On Tuesday (July 22), as the Brechin Advertiser was going to press, the club is set to host to Hillside for a friendly before travelling to Lochlands on Saturday for another friendly tie.

A spokesperson for Parkview said: “We would like to congratulate Ena Christie for getting to the final in the Angus and Perthshire Ladies. Unfortunately, she did not win but we are proud.”
