Wet weather and a poor tyre choice cost young Brechin racer a podium place when he took part in last weekend’s racing at Cadwell Park.
Having put in some extra testing at the track, hopes were high that the team’s 125 Championship rider Ryan Watson would perform well. However, as the rain came, a wrong back wheel choice on the grid put paid to any hope of a podium finish.
Despite having qualified to start on the second row in fifth, the late change meant he had to start at the back of the grid. But, in difficult heavy rain he rode with his usual determination to cross the line in tenth place.
“A silly avoidable error cost Ryan and the Team a much needed boost of a top five, maybe a rostrum, but these things happen. Good thing is Ryan is riding better again with more confidence,” said manager Robin Appleyard.
