On Tuesday, September 3, the final of the Mixed Triples took place between Margaret McMillan, Ian Barclay and skip Raymond Wood, and Alice McIntosh, Davina Peattie, and skip Campbell Porter over 13 ends.
The teams shared the first two ends with one shot each before Campbell’s team scored three and four shots, with Campbell’s team converting from four shots down to four shots up in the fourth end to lead eight shots to one.
In the fifth end, Raymond’s team scored two shots. On the sixth end, Campbell’s team scored a six to lead 14-3.
Raymond scored one and four over the next two ends, Campbell’s team then scored one and two on the ninth and 10th ends to lead 17-8.
Raymond’s team scored 1-2-1 on the last three ends to bring the final score to 17-12 to Campbell’s team.
On Friday, September 6, the final of the gents’ Fraser Pairs took place between John Denoon and skip Robin Ritchie versus Jim Welsh and skip Ian Barclay.
Ian and Jim got away to a good start and were 13-1 up after four ends, and 17-3 up after six ends.
Robin and John scored one shot at the seventh and ninth ends, Ian and Jim then scored on at the 10th end, and after 12 ends with Robin and John scoring a two, the score 19-7.
Ian and Jim scored ones over the next two ends to finish the game at 21-7 in their favour.
A spokesman for the club said: “Both finals were played in good spirit and sportsmanship.”
