Brechin and District Ladies’ Darts

The results from December 9, for the Brechin and District Ladies’ darts league were as follows:-

Brechin Arms 8, Park Bar B 1; Parkview BC 3, Bridgend 6.

High scores - Rae Wilson, 121; Kate Walters, 125; Dawn Patterson, 120; Florence Barclay, 121; Lorraine Fraser, 125.

Brechin and District Darts

The Brechin branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland played host to a mixed doubles event last Wednesday, which seen 17 pairs take part in the competition. The final was between David Gordon (snr) and Mairi Duthie versus David Lessles and Shona Murray. David and Mairi won the title with a 3-1 victory.

Montrose and District Welfare league

Brechin based The Old Bolag were left with a free day on Sunday, December 15, after their scheduled opponents, @Bar FC, could not raise a team. The other league results were as follows:-

Bervie 8, Marykirk 1; Hillside 4, Fettercairn 2; Lochside United 0, Golf Inn 7; MCT 1, Hudsons 12; St Cyrus 6, Northern Vaults 1.

Hudsons have set the early season pace in the league and sit top having won 11 of their opening 12 fixtures. Defending champions, Golf Inn, head up the chasing pack with only five points dropped after 11 games. New comers St Cyrus will be delighted with their showing thus far with eight wins in their opening 12 games taking them into third.

Fordoun Galaxy claimed the first silverware of the season with their win over Hillside in an entertaining Howdens League Cup final. The two sides will meet again in the semi final of the Piggins cup whilst Bervie face Hudsons on the other side of the draw. The Matrix Cup and the Review cup are yet to get underway whilst several clubs retain an interest in the Scottish cups.

The Welfare League will now enjoy a two week Christmas break with the teams returning on Sunday, January 5, for the following league fixtures:-

Hillside v @Bar FC; Bervie v Fordoun Galaxy; Golf Inn v Northern Vaults; Hudsons v The Old Bolag; and MCT v Marykirk.
