Trio of experienced players join Brechin

BRECHIN City manager Jim Weir secured the services of three more players last week, as he continues to build up his squad for the new season.

Last Thursday evening the new City manager completed the signings of the trio with experience of life at second division level.

Coming in is Andrew Cook, who knocked back the offer of a contract from East Fife to join up at Glebe Park.

Andrew is a left-back, which was something of a problem position for Brechin last season. He also had a stint with Raith Rovers.

Also arriving at Glebe Park are two players assistant-manager Kevin McGowne knows well from their time as youngster with St Mirren.

Midfield man, Craig Molloy has come in from Stenhousemuir. He played 26 times for the Warriors last season and scored four goals from the middle of the park.

Striker David McKenna is another who spent the formative part of his career at Love Street, before a loan spell at Cowdenbeath and a more prominent stint with last year's second division champions, Stirling Albion, for whom he scored ten times.

Jim Weir was clearly delighted to have secured the three new faces and said there would be more to come.
