Vics dinner a big hit

Brechin Vics Junior Football Club held a Sportsman’s dinner on Saturday.

The event, held in the function room at The Northern Hotel, Brechin, was well attended.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by comedian Joe Camay, Des McKeown; BBC Sports pundit and Sun Newspaper Columist, and John Stiles; former player, and son of Nobby Stiles, who won the World Cup with England in 1966.

Items were auctioned off to raise funds for the clubs, including signed football shirts and complimentary days out at football matches.

Club secretary Brian Eaton thanked all for attending and enjoying a good night, and said that in excess of £2000 had been raised for the club.

The club also wished to thank the following table sponsors - Mackie Motors, Dave Longmuir, Bruce Jamieson, James Lammond Ltd, The Stables, Paul Ross, Forster Roofing, Gordon Strachan and David Balfour.
