Charity concert

THE GILBERT and Sullivan society from St Andrews University is set to visit Burn House for their annual concert.

All proceeds of the concert are to be donated to Goodwill and Growth Africa, a charity that is dedicated to helping children and communities affected by HIV, AIDS, poverty and violence in Africa. The charity has recently undertaken work in the Cato Ridge area of South Africa where they support a pre-school in the area.

Irene Gillies, an ambassador for the group said: “The pre-school has been greatly improved and Gael the head teacher is so thankful for all the gifts received from Brechin and area.”

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 22, at 7 p.m. for a 7.30 p.m. start. The show will include the usual collections of songs from various operas. To purchase tickets please contact Cheryl Birse on 01356 626282 or Irene Gillies on 01356 624446.
