A fifteen year celebration of an art and craft group took place at the Damacre Centre on Friday.

The group, which meet twice a week, started up in 1997 and have since then gone from strength to strength. Now, 15 years on, the group still has some original members attending.

Members of the group tackle projects from tapestry and embroidery to knitting and silk painting, leaving the choice of activity up to each individual.

Members of all ages are welcome to attend the group with members from young children to pensioners.

If you have an idea for a project but are not sure how to go about it members of the group are at hand to help.

So, if you have an interest in arts or crafts and would like to attend the group just pop along, taking materials with you, to the Damacre Centre on a Monday from 1 pm to 4 pm or Friday from 10 am to 12 noon.

The group meets every week throughout the year excluding bank holidays.
