Brechin is set to welcome the return of the Big Lunch this Sunday (June 1) at St Ninian’s Square from 12.30 p.m.
The Big Lunch is a simple idea. It’s an annual get- together for communities of all ages: everyone brings lunch (and something to share) and this year we’re celebrating the Commonwealth games.
In Brechin, the Gardner Memorial Church organise the event and provide the facilities, in St Ninian’s Square, just across from the church.
A spokesperson for the event commented: “It is an ideal way of fostering new relationships and energising communities, for in this virtual age, it’s easy to feel a bit left out.
“So are you new to Brechin? Bring the family and your lunch and meet the neighbours! A long time Brechiner? You know the way! Seats are provided, or bring a rug and sit on the grass. With food to share, hot and cold drinks, with entertainment and music and young folk from the local schools taking part - this is unmissable! A gathering for everyone!”
