Brechin’s streets will be lined with motorbikes this weekend with the return of Brechin’s Harley Davidson in the City event.

Following a ride out of bikers on Saturday afternoon, bikers will return to the city where they will park up and display their bikes in Clerk Street.

Much of the centre of Brechin will be pedestrianised for the day to allow visitors to enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere in safety.

The streets will feature trade and catering stands and once again the entertainment will be provided by crowd favourite, The Ballroom Gitz, who are back by popular demand on the stage in Swan Street.

A coffee morning and table sale is also taking place in the City Hall from 10 a.m.

Last year an estimated 2500 people visited the event and it is hoped that the people of Angus will attend to welcome the Harley Bikers who are travelling from all over the country and beyond.

The bikers commended the people of Brechin and Angus for their warm welcome last year, and that positive response has driven the organisers to repeat the event again this year.

Brechin City Youths are also getting involved in this year’s Harley Davidson Event.

A group of volunteers are to be manning a stall inside the Stables car park where they will be selling raffle tickets for a number of various prizes.

Some of the prizes are football related which include a Celtic FC voucher for club tour; Aberdeen FC tickets for SPL fixture; Dundee United tickets for SPL fixture; Brechin City signed ball and various other prizes.

As part of the entertainment for the visiting bikers, Bons Balls, Estrella and Guttergodz are also performing in the City hall between 7.30 p.m. and midnight.

Tickets cost £10 and are available to over-18s only.

The organisers are also still looking for anyone who would be willing to assist with marshalling at the event.
