Brechin and Arbroath libraries will give away Diary of a Wimpy Kid in partnership with ITV Good Morning Britain to encourage children in Brechin and Arbroath to share a love of reading.
Angus Council libraries has announced their support of Good Morning Britain’s ‘Just Read’ campaign, to encourage parents and carers to spend 10 minutes reading with their children every day.
The campaign will see the libraries in Brechin and Arbroath giving away 50 copies of Jeff Kinney’s bestselling book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, to local children this Saturday (September 13).
As well as the giveaway, children who visit the library on Saturday will be able to enjoy an excerpt from Jeff Kinney’s new book and some exciting activities all based on Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
‘Just Read’ looks to highlight how parents and carers can promote the simple but invaluable activity of reading to youngsters.
Sylvia Main from Angus Council libraries commented: “This is a great opportunity for families to receive a free book and encourage their children to be reading”.
This exciting campaign follows a wonderful summer of reading in Angus as thousands of children took part in the Summer Reading Challenge.
