Harley Davidson in the City drew visitors from far and wide last week, with one couple making the trip from Bradford.
Stan and June Souttar, who are big fans of Harley Davidson, heard about the event through the Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG) magazine and decided to incorporate their holidays with the event.
June, who is originally from Carnoustie and Stan from Forfar, visited the Brechin Advertiser office on Friday to speak about their joy of an event like this happening in Brechin:
“We get the Harley magazine, as we are members of the Hog and we saw the event advertised in there.
“We came up on Tuesday and will go back down sometime next week but we wanted to include this when we came up.
“We took our Harley’s up in the trailer to take to the event.
“As June is from Carnoustie and I am from Forfar it is like a “coming home” event.”
With owning a Heritage Harley and a Sportster Harley, Stan and June were keen to see the event do well.
“I hope it would become an annual event and we would probably come up for it every year,” added Stan.
“The Sportster Harley is 20 years old and the Heritage Harley is 18 years old.”
The couple often travel to France to St Tropez Harley Davidson event as well as attending local events where they live, knowing many bikers who travel to events.
“The retailers have been hit with the recessions so it brings many people into the town which is good for them and good for the town itself,” added June.
