Brechin is readying itself for the return of the ‘Hallowe’en in the City Cartie Race’, which is set to be bigger and better than last years event.
The race, which takes place on Saturday, October 19, will see drivers take on a longer and more challenging course. The course will start at the top of the High Street, and travel along Bridge Street before ending on River Street.
The event also doubles as the last round of the Scottish Cartie Association Championship, with the race set to decide the overall champion for 2013.
Practise runs will be taking place between 9 and 11 a.m., with competitive races starting at midday.
Scrutineering checks of all entrants’ carties is scheduled for Sunday, October 6.
As well as the race, the event, organised by BRAVO Brechin, will also have a number of additional attractions.
Angus Farmers market is to make a welcome return to Brechin and will be located in Church Street. Stallholders are hoping to return in the future if there is enough support from the public on the day.
Hornes funfair will be back in the town. The funfair will be near the race finish line in River Street along with live music and a Hog Roast stand. There will also be an inline skating demonstration.
Volunteers are required that can give a bit of time on the day to assist with the event. Anyone who is interested can contact Sandra Livingston (community planning officer) on 01356 627443.
