Artists from Brechin, Montrose and Kirriemuir art classes are showcasing their work in an exhibition at the Town House Museum.

The Angus Leisure Art exhibition opened to the public on June 5, and will run until July 11. This is the third year that artists from the Angus Leisure Art classes, run by Helen Whamond, have showcased their work.

The exhibition has been organised by Lorna McCall, who has attended the Brechin class for several years.

Last year’s exhibition, which was also held at the Town House Museum, brought around 475 visitors, resulting a great boost to the town centre.

As well as being able to view the work on display, which includes floral works, animal portraits and landscape scenes, the public can cast a vote for their favourite painting. The exhibitor with the most votes will receive a £50 voucher.

Discussing the exhibition, Lorna said: “Around 30 artists have contributed 70 paintings with a wide range of different styles and mediums in a high standard of work.”

The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.
