The route of the Queen’s Baton Relay through Brechin on Saturday, June 28, has been revealed by Angus Council.
The baton is set to arrive in Brechin from Northmuir, before going on to Montrose where there will be a special community event to mark the relay through Angus.
Once in Brechin, the Queen’s Baton will travel along Castle Street, on to St. Davids’ Street, then Swan Street and continue along to Clerk Street.
The baton will then travel down Southesk Street, along Montrose Street and on to Montrose.
Speaking at the launch of the relay routes, Angus Provost Helen Oswald said: “Saturday, June 28, will be a special day for our county and for the baton bearers nominated for their contribution to life in their local community.
“I hope the people of Angus will give the Queen’s Baton Relay and our baton bearers a very warm reception and make it a day to remember as we build towards Angus playing its part as a proud host venue for the Games.”
Chair of the Angus Games Steering Group, Councillor Jeanette Gaul added: “The party will be getting started in Angus with the arrival of the baton and I’m sure that there will be a warm welcome from Angus residents to the local heroes who will carry the baton.”
