Brechin community will be working together to make this year’s ‘Christmas in the City’ an event to remember.
Last year there was so much positive feedback from the community on how they had enjoyed the Christmas event and so the theme continued throughout the year with Easter in the City, Summer in the City with the Harley Davidson’s and Halloween in the City with the Cartie race.
The next event will be the Christmas in the City which will take place on Saturday, December 8.
Joining together for the second ‘Switch On Brechin’ are the Christmas Lights Committee, Brechin’s Retailers, Caledonian Railway, Mechanics Institute with Joie de Vivre, Gardner Memorial Church, Brechin Round Table, Brechin High School, Angus Council and a host of volunteers.
Marquee stalls will be set out in St Ninian’s Square, organised by the Round Table, throughout Saturday afternoon, with musical entertainment prior to the Christmas light switch on at 5pm.
Of course no Christmas event would be complete without a visit from Santa or singing of Christmas Carols and this event will not disappoint.
Jan MacIntyre, of the Christmas Lights Committee, said: “Why not come along and make it a bigger and better event.
“Maybe you would like to help or provide entertainment or maybe take a craft stall at the Mechanic’s Institute or in the High Street.
“If you would like to be involved contact us on BrechinLights@aol.com”
