MEMBERS of Brechin Photographic Society invited Mr Gordon Milne from the Bon Accord Camera Club to judge their Print of the Year competition.
Club members were asked to submit their best work on any subject as long as the image was captured in the past year.
A wide variety of images were presented and the judge commented on the high standards achieved by the Brechin Photographers.
In the black and white category the winning image “Gorilla’s Hand” was captured by Iain Mclaughlan (see picture).
Mr Milne made note of the interesting texture and depth along with an unusual subject choice which made this image stand out from the others.
In the colour category Mr Milne noted the tranquil feel and a unique 3D quality to the image The “Lilly Pond” captured by winning photographer Jim Snedden.
The Brechin Photographic Society meets on Tuesday evening in the St Andrew’s Hall and new members are made very welcome.
Events coming up in the next few weeks include a lecture on large format cameras by Professor Nigel Webster and an evening where club members can demonstrate their artistic talent.
