Arrangements are well in hand for the Brechin Transition Town Cuban evening in the Northern Hotel on Friday, April 5.
The event kicks off with a short film of a transition project that is already up and running, so that people can get a better picture of the possibilities.
There will then be a salsa dancing demonstration with the opportunity for those attending to have a go.
Nibbles will be provided and there will be plenty of chances to sample the Cuban cocktails and non-alcohol cocktails throughout the evening.
The City of Brechin and District Community Council is sponsoring the event which is also being supported by The Northern Hotel. Tickets, costing £5.50 each, are available from Joy Mowatt on 07590 472750 and from The Northern Hotel.
Community council convener Grahams Lockhart commented: “This event is the first of a number planned from the Transition Town seminar held on February 9.
“A number of people got together at the end to see if there was enough interest to start things moving. It is an opportunity in a fun and social way to find out more about Transition Towns.
“It also fits in well with other events being arranged throughout the year by the Retailers’ Association and with the wider discussions about the Community Campus and the many public buildings in Brechin.
“I encourage as many as possible to come along to enjoy the evening.”
