Entries sought for ‘Spirit of Angus’ photography competition

Entries are being sought for this year’s Spirit of Angus photography competition.

Keen amateur photographers are invited to use their eye and their lens to Capture the Spirit of Angus’ by taking a photograph of the county’s nature, heritage, arts, or industry, as well as people, places and pastimes.

The competition is open to all, excluding professional photographers in the two categories - adult and junior (under 16).

Photographs must be taken within Angus and entries must be submitted online by September 30.

Finalists will be invited to an exhibition of the photographs in Brechin Town House Museum where the winners will be announced.

This exhibition will then go on a tour of Angus throughout 2015 after which time entries will be retained in the Angus Photographic Collection held within Angus Archives.www.angusheritage.com/spirit

Adult first prize for adults is dinner, bed and breakfast for two people at the Glen Clova Hotel. Second prize is dinner for two people at the But n’ Ben Restaurant, Auchmithie.

The junior first prize is a digital camera. Second prize is a voucher for an Angus Council Country Park outdoor activity of your choice.

The winner of the People’s Choice will win a high tea for two people at the Waterside Restaurant, Forbes of Kingennie.

Entries must state where the photograph was taken. Entries must be submitted electronically in file format jpg using the online form at www.angusheritage.com/spirit.

Files must be a minimum of 500KB and a maximum of 2MB.

The competition closes at midnight on Tuesday 30 September, 2014.
