The local organisation whose aim is “putting the heart back into the City” is looking to recruit new members to join with them for future events.

Businesses, Retailers and Voluntary Organisations from throughout the city (BRAVO Brechin) are looking for people who can bring new ideas and assist future events in Brechin such as the up-coming Halloween Cartie Race in the City and the Christmas in the City events.

BRAVO Brechin works together to improve ommunity spirit and to encourage pride in the City of Brechin.

Since Brechin benefitted from a £2.9 million heritage led regeneration project that was jointly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Angus Council and Historic Scotland and completed earlier this year,a number of events have taken place within the city.

Past events have included Christmas in the City, Easter in the City and, of course, last weekend’s successful Harley Davidson in the City.

It doesn’t stop there as BRAVO Brechin are busy organising more events to take place in the future.

These include the return of the popular Halloween Cartie Race in the City that will retun to Brechin on October 19 - with the promise of an even more challenging course.

Other events to look forward to over the coming months is the introduction of Brechin’s first ever Brechin Music Fest on August 30 and 31 and next year BRAVO Brechin plan to bring back the Brechin Pageant.

If you are interested in joining BRAVO Brechin, an open meeting is being held in the Damacre Centre on Wednesday (July 17) at 5:30 p.m.

You do not need to be part of a group – individuals who want to help will be be warmly welcomed

If you can not attend the meeting contact Sandra Livingston, local community planning officer on 01356 627443 for further information.
