More events take place as Edzell gala week continues

Edzell Gala week continues this week, with a number of events and activities taking place over the coming few days.

On Wednesday night (tonight) there will be a bingo night at Inglis Memorial Hall.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with eyes down at 7.30 p.m.

Entry costs £2 and includes tea and biscuits and there will be a raffle.

Thursday sees a quiz taking place in the Panmure Arms at 7.30 p.m.

Entry for teams of three costs £5.

On Friday afternoon there will be an afternoon dance at the Panmure Arms from 2 to 4 p.m.

Music will be provided by Willie McArdie and entry is £5.

Sunday starts with a ‘beat the clock fun run’ in the morning.

Registration for the run takes place from 9 to 9.45 a.m. with the event kicking-off at 10 a.m.

The fun run will cover 4.1 miles of flat path/track.

Entry to the race costs £3 for adults and £1.50 for under 15s.

On Sunday afternoon Edzell’s annual flower and vegetable show will take place at Inglis Hall.

The event will be opened by Reverend David Gray with doors opening at 2 p.m.

Entries for the show should be delivered to the hall on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. or on the day of the show itself by 9.30 a.m.

Entry to the show is £1 unlimited and only one entry per class per person is permitted.

Winners of the show will be presented their awards by this year’s Edzell Gala Queen Clara Parsons and her attendants Abby Christie and Stephanie Lister.
