Councillor Donald Morrison, convener of the neighbourhood services committee, made the decision to withdraw the report on uses for Inglis Memorial Library from the agenda at the recent committee meeting held on Thursday.
The decision came after it emerged that changes to the report had been made after both Councillor Morrison and vice-convener Councillor Jeanette Gauld had approved it.
Councillor Mairi Evans said: “I am disappointed but I understand the decision. The report was missing key information and financial reports. The groups who have been campaigning to get this on to the agenda will be disappointed as well, but it is planned to be discussed at the next meeting in six or seven weeks time.”
