The success of the Brechin, Edzell and Aberlemno marquee at the Glamis Gathering has to be put down to the help and dedication of a sub-committee from the Brechin Area Partnership who joined together to create a fun and exciting tent show casing the area.
The team consisting of Peem Milne, Jane Ferguson, Douglas Murray, Eric Gray, Bill Sturrock, Duncan Smedley and Beverley Gibb put a lot of hard work into the event which saw around 23,000 on attendance.
Speaking on behalf of the Partnership Peem Milne said: “As far as the partnership was concerned we were delighted. I suppose putting it together wasn’t easy at times but at the end of the day it was the contribution from the many organisations from Brechin, Edzell and Aberlemno that made it.
“We were very successfully covering the ward from top to bottom and showing what there is available.
“We appreciated everyone coming along and putting on their display.
“An individual that is worthy of a mention is Ian Gowie of Edzell who allowed us to display his 1953 Lancaster car - made in the same year of the Queen’s coronation - which must have been most photographed thing on the day. Overall it was a very successful day and represented Brechin at its best.”
